The plot thickens

Up until this point we've had about 3 to 4 short cutscenes that dabble in revealing a bit about the story of the game. Soon there will be more cutscenes and more of the story will be revealed, but how much do we know so far?

Well with the training missions we've learned a bit more about 47's past, but I'm not here to discuss that. From the Call me 47 or the Legacy trailer cutscene we come to understand that the assassinations that 47 has carried out during his career have changed the world. How do we know this?

Well, first, the Shadow client (which I'm going to be calling Nick, you'll know why) tells us or 47 directly:
"Your actions have changed the world... Do you realize what kind of world you've been shaping? Does the ICA? Does your handler?..."
He means to tell us that all these assassinations aren't just meaningless good sport to grab some quick cash. If you want more proof, watch the World of Assassination trailer because it explains the aftermaths of some of 47's missions in the past and present.

Now, you might be saying: "I get it, 47 did some stuff and he changed the world. Cool. But how exactly? Who does this concern?" to which I reply: "Good question, but before I can answer that I'll have to explain some stuff about Nick and why he does what he does."

Alright, so our guy Nick is actually our client which has been ordering all these assassinations we have carried out so far in the current game. I know, shocker sarcasm, but it's pretty obvious. At the end of the Showstopper cutscene, Nick says to Viktor: "Viktor, good luck with the show. I have a feeling it's going to be the one you'll be remembered for."
Pretty standard foreshadowing of someone's brutal death by a handsome bald guy in a well tailored suit. Now, how'd he know he was going to die?

Well my first suspicion was that Nick is an omniscient God and he can see into the future. Well, it wasn't really. My first suspicion however was that Nick is pretty good at whatever he does and he has inside information about ICA's business. However, after the World of Tomorrow cutscene I realized that Nick actually is the client ordering the hits and that's why he knew that Viktor would get rekt. How'd I come to that conclusion?

WELL when the Asian guy (I'm not racist, I just don't know his name) asks Nick: "You did this?"
Nick replies: "Iago exposed you, ICA did the heavy lifting, I just pulled some strings."

ICA did the heavy lifting

AKA getting rid of a highly destructive virus that could've been used by a sinister cabal of powerful individuals for world domination purposes. Pretty standard heavy lifting. However, it doesn't start or stop there. The heavy lifting also refers to 47 getting rid of Viktor and Dalia. Viktor being the only person who knows who possesses the secrets of the GLOBAL ELITE, and Dalia who's into selling them to the highest bidder. Currently 47 is getting ripped from lifting heavy weights such as getting rid of two key characters which could overthrow an entire country and take control.

Pulled some strings

AKA getting the secrets of the GLOBAL ELITE from Viktor and targeting the second key holder aka Asian dude using the information. Other than that it means ordering the hits on each target 47 has come across so far. Think about it, it makes a lot of sense that Nick would want to get rid of Viktor and Dalia.

Viktor being the only person who knows who possesses the secrets of the GLOBAL ELITE

Dalia who's into selling them to the highest bidder

However, what doesn't make sense is why Nick would want to get rid of the virus and either Reza or Claus. Well not right now anyway. Isn't he the bad guy? No.

Although his rough voice, scruffy beard, sharp eyes, slick hair, and gross green overcoat would make you think so, he's not the bad guy. The antagonist is Providence AKA GLOBAL ELITE. Well, the antagonist to the story anyway, not the antagonist to 47. He has no idea what's going on, he's just getting rid of some rich people for that $. Now, what would make me think Providence is the bad guy and Nick the good? (pretty sure 47 is the ugly in this dynamic -- sorry, the bald)

Well I need a new way to start my paragraphs, a synonym for well maybe?
Nick gets the secrets of the GLOBAL ELITE from Viktor, gets a plane ride to italy, stalks Asian dude to a parking lot, That green overcoat gave it away from the start and asks for the key. What did he want the key for? Information from the Providence safe so that Mr. Fanin could dig a hole and pee his pants and Herald the blue man suit to walk away casually like nothing had happened. Well, not really. This is only what we have so far, I don't know why Nick would want more information on Providence. Now we know why Providence is bad, because they want to rule the world and all that jazz. Pretty original. Why is Nick good? Because he wants to stop them. Now you might be asking: "Well why would he want to stop them, what's the motivation? Does he feel morally responsible for the world?"
Well, sort of.

Now here's the part I've been wanting to talk about. What do we know about Nick?
Looks up a thesaurus Effectively that he 's just a dude with a lot of knowledge and skills and he has seen some shit.

"Your actions have changed the world... Do you realize what kind of world you've been shaping? Does the ICA? Does your handler? I live in that world, I have seen the consequences, I have felt the cost. That's what defines me."

What consequences, what cost?
Now, in the third mission you've all probably noticed the headmaster who's writing a book about a sinister cabal of powerful individuals who've formed an organization called the Omega Charter. or you've been too busy speedrunning the game or complaining about the lack of gloves The parallels are way too obvious and they're there for the devs to tell us more about the plot without having to show it to us. If you don't think there are any parallels, here's some proof. This quote is taken directly from the headmaster's voice lines:

"Now how do I use that ass Strandberg in all this? What if the Omega Charter are using him as a lightning rod and allow him to escape and take shelter in Cairo where they're expecting riots to break out."

Most obvious parallel here being an African city where riots are happening, and he's using Strandberg as a character in his book without changing much about him.

"Cynical banker Jaako Arola"

Strandberg being a Swedish private banker but the character in his book being Finnish.

Now, if we take everything the Headmaster says about his book's plot to be canon in the Hitmanverse plot but only changing a few names, we can find out a few things about Nick's backstory. Well, his name may not actually be Nick since the headmaster swaps out a few names (Omega Charter being Providence and Jaako Arola being Claus Strandberg, Cairo-->Marrakesh) but I'm still going to call him that because it's easier than Shadow Client.

What I'm about to say next are all taken from the headmaster's voice lines:

Nick Sparta is a dude working for the CIA when a Langley approved drone strike mullered his friend. He quits and then works in egypt as a freelance security advisor. One day when he's walking down the street, a dying Interpol agent hands him a badly damaged USB. "What's this?" he asks, the agent dies and Nick is left there sad. He goes home, plops the USB in his laptop and finds fragments of information on a sinister cabal of powerful individuals called the Omega Charter who are planning a world wide coup d'etat.

"OHHHH MYYY GOOOOOOD". Now he's forced back into the deadly world of espionage because the dead interpol agent reminded Nick of his friend, and now he wants revenge against Langley.

One thing I'd like to explain here is the damaged USB. It probably contained the names of Viktor and Dalia. Nick looks at Viktor's past and realizes he has somethings he would want to get rid of, namely some guy named Kamarov. So Nick cuts a deal with Viktor and kills Kamarov. Viktor then holds up his end of the bargain and gives Nick the rest of the information, the stuff that was corrupted on the USB.

Alright, I hope that explained a lot of things, because I'm bad at doing so. And also I might have had some creative liberties in that story but you get the jist of it. Now if we exchange a few names... Voila, we have our Hitman 6 plot and backstory. Well some of it. Gotta wait a few months for the whole thing.

Now there's one thing you've probably noticed, all of those names are obviously fake, but you've heard about Langley before.
The Showstopper cutscene:

Viktor: How was Moscow?

Nick: Kamarov is gone. I set him up as a Langley spy. It's quite the scandal at the FSB. His death won't be investigated.

I don't know who Langley is, but I'm speculating he's the final boss. As in the leader of providence. All I know so far is that he is not welcomed by the FSB and that he operates drones.

One more thing about Nick, he probably has a daughter. I don't know, it's a gut feeling. When Asian dude asks him if Nick has a family and the Providence will find a weakness if there is, Nick doesn't deny it, he just says that he'll take his chances.

Anyway, that was my ramble about some dim knowledge on the Hitman plot. I might have missed a lot of things and I might have reiterated what you've already known, but I was bored and thought this whole thing was exciting. Anyways if you've read this far thank you, if you liked it I like you and if you didn't well sorry for wasting your time.

TL;DR

Who cares about the plot in Hitman?
