As a number of us try to perfect our runs we begin to realise that the smallest changes to your actions can have surprising effects on NPCs. Here is a proof of concept of the butterfly effect in this game...
When I arrive at the field the two bodyguards patrolling the perimeter of the helicopter are arriving at the near left corner. Depending on having or not having a delayed start (allowing the animation at the beginning to continue or not) and throwing or not throwing a coin (to attract a specific security guard) will cause those bodyguards to either remain stationary or begin moving towards the far left.
The four possible combinations, demonstrated in this video, work every time:
No Delay + No Coin = Stationary
Delay + No Coin = Stationary
No Delay + Coin = Stationary
Delay + Coin = MoveFor consistency I try to follow exactly the same route, equipping coin from inventory, crouch running and standing at the same points.
The woman at the end of the final combination says it all: "Oh, perfect!"
Has anyone else discovered any similar interesting experiences?
