A little guide for the creation of Contracts

I wanted to create this so we don't have to saturate the thread of member's contracts with too much textual information.
Anyway, Here are some points that I always consider when I create contracts and make sure that they have potential to be enjoyable and quality content:

  • The targets of choice are the main point. A good target always has either a fair share of reliable ways to isolate to make the kill or just follows a pretty varied route that fits many possibilities of kills.

  • The restrictions applied are coherent. Imposing a certain disguise or kill condition goes closely with the targets chosen and the zones where they move. It's never a good idea to create a contract that requires a weapon/disguise at one point of the map to kill a target at the other extreme.

  • Stablishing a standard time for contract completion. I have a maximum of 5 minutes for contracts that I consider common or speedrunable and a maximum of 10 minutes for puzzle contracts. A contract that lasts too long eventually feels like a chore than a fun gameplay, specially if the player fails at one point.

  • The starting points avaible are nice for variety. I believe that if you get a good time starting in a Suit-based location, like 47's room at the Himmapan, and the targets are close to other starting locations, then it's a great way to measure how fluid thing can be. I prefer that at least 2 starting locations are at your disposal.

  • Making sure that is more than a couple ways to solve the contract. No point in creating something that lacks too much solutions.

  • Not compromising the whole equipment of the player to certain kills. Maximum 2 forced weapons.

  • Last from my part is to create a good title and briefing. Some specialize in creating great backstories for the targets and a title that fits the scenario of the killing while others (liek me) create titles and briefing with puns or references to other things just for the laughs.

If you have any more factors you consider vital for a good contract, please implement them in the comments. :bear::slight_smile:
