Hello guys.
So, I had kind of an epiphany. And I must say, I feel a bit guilty, sorry, and also, thankful.

Don't get me wrong : I critisized some things about the game and Square Enix choices on this forum since I'm here, and I stand my ground about anything I said.

But still. I acted kinda childish, and disrespectful because I was angry. I gave many reasons to that, the fact that I paid for the game, expected more of it, that they didn't keep their promises, etc.

Yet, I realized that the true reason I was angry, was the fact that... I cared about the Hitman saga. I don't want to sound like a freak, I don't worship it or anything. But Hitman has always had its special place in my heart, along with the Zelda saga and some Final Fantasy games, so that means something really.
I cared about it, and, you know, harsh love and all. I cared so much that I felt unforgiving to any mistake. Like those parents who always are mad at their child because they expect so much of them. You know? I wouldn't be that angry and unforgiving if I didn't truly care about the game. I'd just say "oh, fine, it's okay as it is, I'll just roll with it, fuck haters lol!". But I do care.

And still that doesn't justify being disrespectful. Well to be honest, I was angry but I think I still contained myself, compared to some others. But IO team deserves a huge THANK YOU. Thank you for bringing back Hitman. Thank you for actually trying to get closer to what you asked. Sure, sure, it makes commercial sense, and you probably wouldn't do it if Absolution hadn't been a commercial failure. But you still decided to go this way. You decided to answer to fans on fan forums. You decided to make surveys, to at least act as if you cared about our opinion.

I think we as fans are lucky that you act this way. Most video games developpers don't really do that, I'd even say they don't really give a damn about their fanbase. But maybe I just feel this way because I've never been so invested in a videogame fanbase. Either way, Hitman 2016 was not "due" to us, your communication was not due to us. Sure it's due to people who bought the games, like, "after-sales management". But it started much before the game was even released. And still now, I'm sure you're doing your best to tell Square Enix "they didn't like that, I know you really wanted that to be a thing, but please let us remove it"; doing your best to fix issues; and doing your best for whatever is yet to be released.

So, again. Angry fans are angry for a reason : they love your work. Thats harsh, but remember, they wouldn't be upset if they didn't love you. I mean, your work.
But I think you deserve a thank you. And I hope some other people here will join me on that. I still think lots of things have to be changed, I've discussed them on other threads, but you deserve a specific thread for the positive side. I've not seen many positive threads. Or maybe I just didn't focus on them enough to see them...

TL;DR : the game may have his flaws, but IO team, know that even if I bitched a lot, I actually really appreciate what you did with the game, and I hope other angry fans will agree with me.
