I was watching the final episode of the latest season of The Americans the other day (S05E13). Don’t worry, no spoilers! If you’ve not seen the show I can highly recommend it. Apart from the superb casting and story, it is set in 1980’s America during the cold war and has such an authentic feel to it.
Anyway, in this particular episode someone was strapped to a polygraph, which, like so many props, looked as if it had been borrowed from a museum.
A few moments later the camera zooms in on the machine, and…
It turns out they are a company specialising in polygraph equipment.
